ETMC Trinity WOW! event feeds 14 families

What started as an event to thank ETMC Trinity employees for the excellent care they provide year-round has resulted in 14 needy families receiving a complete Thanksgiving meal this year.

“Our ETMC Trinity WOW! committee held a Thanks-for-Giving dessert party for our hospital’s team members on Nov. 20,” explained ETMC Trinity Administrator Warren Robicheaux. “In addition to thanking our team members for the great healthcare they give to our patients, the committee hoped to collect enough donations to purchase four or five Thanksgiving dinners for needy families in our community.”

Committee members displayed collection jars throughout the hospital to accept contributions for the dinners, which cost $54 each from the local Brookshire Brothers. Hospital administration further encouraged donations by announcing they would purchase one additional dinner for every three contributed by employees. The response? More than $700 was generously given.

“The response from employees, Trinity Hospital District board members, and hospital visitors was overwhelming,” Robicheaux said. “It is our privilege to provide these 14 families with Thanksgiving dinner, and a small reminder of how much we all have to be thankful for.” ETMC Trinity is part of a regional system of hospitals that seeks to maximize the quality and level of care offered by each community’s hospital.
